Cycling to Rerik after a night at the noisy and dirty camp site in Graal Muritz

The camp site in Graal Muritz has definately been one of the campings where it’s been hard to sleep. Hard ground and a lot of noise during the evening/night. Anyway, we are ready to cycle to Rerik and one of the camp sites there!

20140729_124017Our evening in Graal Muritz was nice. We spent the afternoon in the water and relaxed later in the evening.

I must say that I’ve never been to a country where it is more difficult to get free internet than here in Germany. Not in any cafe’s, restaurants, hotels and campings. You can pay loads of money to stay there, but they will charge you about 5 Euro for internet and than the quality is horrible…. Sorry Germany, you are good at many things, but this needs to change.

We’re on the road again. It gives me a good feeling to see the smile on Lillian’s face these days. She’s been smiling before as well, but you can really see that she is enjoying the day’s on the road.

The first 12 kilometers is through the forrest, but luckily it’s on roads that is ok (compared to what roads we cycled on in Poland). There’s many cyclists in the woods and even more when you get out of there.

20140729_125228Cycling further on, the road takes us to a small ferry, which takes us over to Warnemünde. What a place!!!! You feel like you are taking the boat from a normal boring road, and when you disembark you are basically in heaven. The streets, the buildings and everything is beautiful and puts a smile on our face.

We’re having a great day on the road so far. We’re cycling through Kühlungsborn. There’s a lot of people there and it seems like a popular place. The road takes us along the coast and to Rerik.

We’ve been lucky today, since I stopped and booked a place for our tent. When we arrived at the camp site, the next person was rejected, no more available space…. This is the life along the coast in Poland and 20140729_125425Germany. I can guarantee you that this will change when I’m heading south.

The tent is set up, we’ve had a meal and quickly walked down to the sea. The water is dirty, a lot of sea gras, but that’s not gonna stop us from swimming and having fun. We bought a ball, which is nice to have. We throw it to each other and really makes sure that the other one is getting wet.

Our neighbours at this camping are nice. We speak a little bit with them and they ask about the trip.

The coast line is getting shorter, We have to enjoy this as long as we can.

Lillian’s little norwegian corner:

Den brakte oss over til himmelen – Warnemünde! For en by!

Men neida….

So long….

  1. Of course you can have free wlan in Germany – when you spent € 100,- for an night in a hotel 🙂
Great to see your perspective! For me as a German it is «normal» having free wifi only at home and very few other places. Being in Dublin in March we had free wifi e.g. in all buses. So indeed it looks like Germany is a bit behind in that case!
Anyway it is good to see you still have fun, although you are currently at one of the most crowded places in Germany during the summer season. Stay on!

    • Hi Tom,
Hehe. It makes it difficult for me to update the website and steals my time! 🙂 But I’ll manage!

I’m still having fun. Lillian’s travelled back home now and I’ve started cycling south. Really interesting cycling route here in Germany so far! The days will be long because I stop for pictures all the time 😉 hehe
